A Legacy of Care in South Lorain

Our ministry began as a faith-based food pantry and clothing closet in South Lorain County, Ohio that was started in 2007 by Peggy & John Hurley to fill a void in our community by providing essential resources to those struggling to make ends meet.   In 2021 we opened the doors of the manor for our My House program to offer transitional housing to young adults facing housing insecurity.

Today, we continue their legacy by not only meeting immediate physical needs but by building relationships, offering hope, and empowering individuals and families toward a more stable future.

We are proud to partner with organizations including: the Black River Education and Wellness Foundation, the Lorain Community Foundation, the Community West Foundation, 100 Women Who Care – Lorain County, Avon United Methodist Church, Open Door Church, Chicks Against Hunger, Girls Give Back, and generous private donors to support our programs.

These collaborations reflect the power of unity within the community—coming together to make a meaningful difference. Through these partnerships, we have been able to raise critical, life-changing funds that directly support the mission and impact of We Care We Share.
